Port Credit Library
Join us for Seniors Month with the KW Woodwind Quintet at the Port Credit Library for a fabulous concert with former members of the KW Symphony!
The KW Woodwind Quintet’s history goes back to the 1970’s when three quintets for the KWS (brass, woodwind and string) visited schools to demonstrate instruments and musical concepts.
Over the years, the Musicians’ Union and the KWS Volunteer Committee supported hundreds of concerts for elementary schools. The quintets are also active in community concerts, such as the noon hour church series at First United Church in Waterloo and St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kitchener.
The KW Woodwind Quintet continues to play school and community concerts, often supported by the Union’s Music Performance Trust Fund. The group also plays for weddings, libraries, seniors’ homes and other events. Recently, the Quintet has been featured in the noon hour concert series at Conrad
Grebel college, University of Waterloo, and at the Elora Festival.
The Quintet has an extensive library, which over the years has been supplemented with special arrangements by the group’s horn player, Trevor Wagler.
This concert is generously co-sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund.
