The idea behind Quintessential Quintets was to collect some of the most glorious pieces written for this medium into one evening. The repertoire in this concert spans many eras, from Romantic to contemporary, pairing one of the most famous Piano Quintets ever written with two exceptionally beautiful compositions not as widely known, that in our humble opinions are quintessential listening for chamber music enthusiasts! Join us for a night of lush writing for strings and piano – performed by the Thin Edge Quintet from Toronto.
Thin Edge Quintet is a subset of Toronto’s Thin Edge New Music Collective. -a group known for their intense passion, innovative programming and cutting edge performances. All the players are award winning musicians, who come together in friendship to play music of any style. More than half of these players also grew up in Mississauga, so it is a wonderful homecoming!
